軽さの秘密は、その素材にあります｡
KATEに使われているのは、実用金属で最も軽いマグネシウム。軽さだけでなく、鉄やアルミ以上の強度*とリサイクル性の高さも兼ね備えた、非常に優れた素材ですが、加工には難しい技術を必要とするため、これまで家具に用いられることは多くありませんでした｡
